It is an honor to serve you in a safe space. Welcome to my tribe.
I'm April Harris. I design AI systems that return voice to the people the room was never built to hear. Senior author of the peer-reviewed Finding Your Voice™ methodology (IJPR, 2026). Featured in HBO's We Are Not Done Yet with Jeffrey Wright. I build the systems that make the methodology permanent.
In classrooms that don't teach to your brain. In workplaces that reward masking over thinking. In military units that demanded your service then silenced your voice when you reported what happened to you.
The 80% Wall™ is what happens next. The point where cognitive load peaks and high-performing professionals abandon what they were building. Not because they lack ability. Because the system was never designed to let them finish.
That's not a personal failure. That's a design failure.
And design failures have design solutions.
A peer-reviewed methodology. A named phenomenon. An AI ecosystem. One mission: your voice, sustained.
Phase 1 · Finding Your Voice™ (The Research)
A peer-reviewed intervention designed by April Harris and published in the International Journal of Psychiatry Research (2026, senior author). Developed through The Theatre Lab's Life Stories Program, drawing on master training with David Diamond (Theatre For Living, Canada) and Ann Randolph (solo performance and facilitation).
Tested with female veterans (survivors of military sexual trauma, PTSD, TBI, and intimate partner violence) and delivered across Washington, DC: Phelps High School, Bard, Eastern, Academy of Hope, N Street Village, and Theatre Lab.
Result: During the intervention, 75% of all participant responses reflected the most positive behavioral characteristics across five validated psychological instruments. When participants returned to unsupported environments, positive responses dropped 32%.
The intervention worked inside the program. Sustaining the gains after participants returned to systems that weren't built to hold them did not.
Phase 2 · The 80% Wall (The Phenomenon)
The 80% Wall™ names the cognitive load barrier where high-performing professionals abandon projects near completion. Not from lack of talent. From systems that don't accommodate how their brains process, regulate, and sustain effort.
April identified this pattern across hundreds of people: veterans, civilians, students, executives. She gave it a name, a framework, and a measurable definition.
Phase 3 · The AI Ecosystem (The Scale)
To solve the continuity gap the research identified, April built AI wellness systems that make the intervention permanent and portable:
4-mode cognitive accessibility (Green · Yellow · Red · Pause). Adjusts in real time to the user's current overwhelm level. Personalized from individual questionnaires.
AI scaffolding with three operating modes: standard exploration, binary command choices, or emergency containment to halt dysregulation and restore agency. Built to keep you safe.
30-Day Victory Sprint. Productized methodology with Personal Accountability Partners.
Prompt architecture and engineering framework. 7-8 evaluation dimensions. Neuroinclusive design. Support that honors what you carry.
The room that worked in the research? These systems make it portable. Permanent. Scalable to anyone, anywhere.
Credibility Anchor
Booking a stage, implementing AI wellness systems, joining the cohort, or staging real space. Each path runs through the same peer-reviewed architecture.
The Voice That Changes the Room
April delivers high-impact keynotes on voice recovery, neuroinclusive systems, AI wellness architecture, and The 80% Wall™. Featured in the HBO documentary We Are Not Done Yet. Ideal for: Conferences · military/veteran events · corporate ERGs · education summits · arts & health intersections
The Methodology That Started Everything
The peer-reviewed methodology delivered as a live cohort experience. 8 weeks · 2-hour sessions · virtual or in-person. Current active cohorts running virtually, at DC schools, and at N Street Village. Cohort-based, witnessed practice, voice recovery the way the research validated it.

In active build. Waitlist now open for early access.
Ideal for: Individuals + organizations · ND professionals · veteran wellness programs · workforce dev
Private Sessions + High-Level Online Classes
The Corner of Chaos is April's Black Box Theater, a private space for one-on-one sessions and small-group classes delivered online. Three 16-week theatres built on the Finding Your Voice™ methodology, tickets from $449/mo: ① The Story Underneath for Life's Turning Points ② First Person Leadership with AI ③ Creative Sanctuary. Entry payment plan available at $447/mo until $1,500. Theater stays private; sessions and classes are how the public engages.
Ideal for: Executives · founders · creators · anyone ready for high-touch private work

The Book
Before the research, before the AI systems, before the peer review, there was a book. Polishing Your Jewels: What Makes Me Shine wasn't built on theory. It was built on the proven belief that completing something (finishing it, publishing it, holding it in your hands) is itself an act of healing. That book taught me that finding your voice starts with the act of using it.
The Service
I served as a U.S. Army Medical Officer as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. I earned an M.S., an MBA, a PMP. By every institutional measure, I succeeded. But I also watched what those institutions did to the people inside them. Especially women. Especially the minds the system was never built to support. Especially the ones who tried to speak up and were punished for it.
The Training
I trained with David Diamond at Theatre For Living in Canada, in the tradition of Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed. And with Ann Randolph, who writes one-woman shows and taught me that solo performance is its own form of liberation. I learned that performance is intervention. The stage isn't where you pretend to be someone else. It's where you practice being yourself out loud, in public, with witnesses.
The Work in DC
I brought that training home to Washington, DC. Finding Your Voice™ ran at Phelps High School, Bard, Eastern, and Academy of Hope, in classrooms where students had never been asked what they wanted to say. It ran at N Street Village, a place of transition where women were rebuilding everything, including their right to be heard. It ran at Theatre Lab, the acting school that became my partner and my program's home. Watch the LifeStories video at Phelps →
The Documentary
In 2018, HBO featured that work in We Are Not Done Yet, a documentary with Jeffrey Wright about veterans using creative expression to heal. I sat for a series of interviews with Jeffrey during the production and the press cycle that followed, including appearances on Salon and iHeartRadio. The cameras captured what I already knew. When you give someone a safe space and a stage, what comes out of them changes everyone in the room.
The Mountain
In 2024, I climbed Kilimanjaro with an amazing Tribe. I reached Stella Point, the crater rim right below the summit. Not every summit is the top of the mountain. Sometimes the summit is the decision to go, the people beside you, and the proof that your body and your spirit can carry you further than any system said you could go.

The Scale
Today I build neuroinclusive environments as an AI Wellness Architect. Systems that solve the problem my own research identified: the gap between an intervention that works and the unsupported environment people return to. The Lifeline System. Complexity Season. Breaking the 80% Wall. These aren't apps. They're the room made permanent. The voice made sustainable. The methodology made available to every person who's been told their brain doesn't fit.
"It is an honor to serve you in a safe space. Welcome to my tribe."
